2079 was designed to be the other half of a double page spread with the character on page 099. With her peacock-style wings, costume, and trumpet, etcetera, I think this is one of the most successful pieces I created for my CD-related series. Every once in a while I do come up with a concept quite effortlessly, draw the picture with no problems, and then really like the finished product. But at such times, there's always the danger that I'm working off an impression lingering in my brain from something I've seen previously somewhere else. I try make sure this never happens, but I do have to be careful. |
